So this is Innovation?
The surge in interest in AI over the last year has resulted in a slew of new AI projects. Most are utter bunkum.
This is a game that satirises the sensibilities of the second-rate 'entrepreneurs' who peddle these projects across social media and the internet.
Answer a set of questions to select your tech bro and generate an innovative AI project in a sector of your choice.
The game has:
- four ludicrous tech bros to embody
- 32 different AI projects to discover — all were fictional, though I have since discovered that some do exist
- funny jokes
N.B. There's no doubt that large language models and generative AI technology have the potential to make a big impact on human society and the way we live. But whether this impact is positive or negative depends on whose vision we follow, and how strongly it is regulated to prevent theft and deceit. It's the people who paint their capitalistic goals as utopia that I have no time for.
I've used several royalty-free photographs within this piece:
- The Slippery Slope Eckernförde by Stephen Reed
- Great Pyramid (Pyramid of Cheops/Khufu) by Warren LeMay
- Unemployed People in front of the Labour Office 1 by Jaroslav A. Polák
- Derelict Cinema Tunbridge Wells by John K Thorne
- Parrot with owner 3 by Chiara Coetzee
- We Ignore The Signs by Alan Levine
- Bubble by Mathias Appel
- Lazy Cows by tu.finamore
- A Small Mid Latitude Crater by UAHiRISE (NASA)
- Story of a Cult VIII, pastal on paper (2005) by Sujith Rathnayakec
I've also used photos of four real AI entrepreneurs. Like an AI trainer, I scraped these photos from their social media accounts without asking their permission.

Discovered it through Indiepocalypse :) Loved it!
I'd be curious to know which of those projects you've since discovered actually exist.
